Hello. I’m R. Vic Way. Born in Dallas, Texas. I began writing in 1985 just after concluding my second enlistment in the Untied States Air Force. After my honorable discharge I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Education, BSOE, with a major in business management and minor in Air Traffic Control from Wayland Baptist University located in Texas. I am currently working to complete the requirements for my Masters in English with a focus on creative writing.
About Me
I am the author of two children’s picture books, “The Bright Blue Ball”, and “All I That Needed”. “All That I Needed” is a limerick I wrote in 1986 I’ll publish as my second children’s picture book. I am also compiling my completed poetry manuscripts for publication and have written several short stories and am working on my first contemporary crime fiction novel entitled The Mysteries of Lake Okeechobee. If you’re a new writer struggling to become published or just want to see what this journey entails, feel free to follow along and learn from my mistakes and triumphs.
Now it’s time to write.

Upcoming Author
My earliest endeavor in writing focused solely on love poetry during which time I held jobs in Data Processing, Network Management Call Center, Network Engineering and Design, and other high technology related jobs. During this time I was tasked with developing and editing client server based sales presentations with a company named ‘Fastest growing company in America’ two consecutive years by Fortune magazine. After the .com stock crash of 2001 I held jobs in a film extras casting company, and spring boarded into an acting coach position for an acting and modeling school. There I quickly moved into a position marketing and coordinating participation in the annual International Modeling and Talent Associations’ talent contest held in New York, NY., after which I was promoted to School Director.

During that time I also landed an acting contract for a television and radio commercial representing an automobile dealership. In 2005 in response to Desert Storm I joined the United States Naval Reserve and began what was to be a twelve and a half year commitment as a Naval Aircrewman flying logistical missions for all military services world wide on a 24/7 basis. Upon Retirement from the United States Navy I attended Stephen F. Austin State University, (SFASU), in Nacogdoches Texas where I studied education, theatre, and film. There I starred in two student films ‘Hell Rush’, and ‘Sign of the Cross’. My Education was interrupted by a near fatal gun shot wound.
After a 12 day stay in Intensive care and 4 surgeries to reconstruct my left forearm over the next year, I began to search for my calling in life. Retirement caused me to realize my passion for writing so I’ve decided to finally settle down and do what I’ve been told for decades was my calling. Writing! I am Currently working on publishing the two children’s story picture books that I have written, and have begun compiling all of my poetry for publication. In addition I have written several short stories and am working on completing my first novel. I am married and currently reside in both a suburb of Dallas, Texas, and Nacogdoches, Texas.
Now it’s time to write.
